Let Forgiveness Be the Bridge
Politics is a journey, and no journey is without mistakes, disagreements, and difficult seasons. But at the end of every political journey, what should remain is fellowship, forgiveness, and the bigger picture.
I humbly appeal to His Excellency President Julius Maada Bio, the Vice President Dr. Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh, the Chief Minister Dr. Moinina David Sengeh, the National Chairman Sir Jimmy Batilo Songa, and all stakeholders of the SLPP to please find a path of reconciliation for Lahai Lawrence Leema and Joseph Abass Sannoh.
These are men who have stood in the trenches for the party and have made sacrifices for the political journey we are all part of today. Whatever differences may have occurred, we must never allow those differences to erase the contributions of people who have given years of their lives to the movement.
We are all human. We make mistakes. We disagree. We fall short. But forgiveness is not weakness; it is leadership.
In particular, I humbly plead that our senior citizen, Joseph Abass Sannoh, be remembered with compassion and dignity. Grassroots politicians like him are not merely political namesβthey are part of the human foundation upon which political movements are built. Many people depend on their presence, guidance and leadership.
There is still time to heal. There is still time to bring people back together. An appointment or meaningful re-engagement would not only restore dignity; it would send a powerful message that the SLPP values loyalty, sacrifice and fellowship.
Let us not allow our differences to become permanent wounds. Let us choose reconciliation over resentment, unity over division, and forgiveness over bitterness.
Mr. President, sometimes the greatest victory is not defeating those who disagree with us, but finding the courage to bring them home.
For the sake of the party, for the sake of fellowship, and for the sake of the people who believe in this movement, I humbly appeal: please forgive, reconcile, and find a place for these men to continue serving.
May the spirit of forgiveness prevail.
I remain your humble servant.
Hon. Laycon
