The Special court trying the suspended First Vice President Dr. Riek Machar and seven co-accused on Friday warned journalists against publishing detailed accounts of court proceedings. Presiding Judge James Alala Deng issued a warning during the 84th session of the trial at Freedom Hall while the second accused, Mam Pal Dhuor, was testifying. At least 14 people including six children have been killed on Tuesday in cattle raiding in Unity State. The government says horrific attacks occurred at 10:00 PM in the Hopro, Panyagai, and Budang villages of the Rubkona County. Information Minister in Unity State, Hon. Nyakenya Yohaness, says suspected attackers are believed to have come from the Ruweng Administrative Area.

"We extend our deepest condolences to the bereaved families and wish a speedy recovery to those receiving treatment. We call upon all affected communities to remain calm and refrain from any actions that may escalate tensions. The government is actively investigating the incident and is working closely with relevant authorities to ensure that those responsible are brought to justice."

Ruweng Administrative Area has not yet comment on an alleged suspected attackers.

The Governor of Unity State, Dr. Joseph Manytuil, on Tuesday summoned trade unions, the state revenue authority, and the Rubkona County administration over an unprecedented price increase in the market. Authority was shocked by food commodities' price dramatic increase. The traders acknowledged market prices instability. But blaming the delay of commodities supply from Juba.

Monytuil warned that the market will be restrictly Supervised. He instructed the Ministry of Trade to hold accountable those who would violate the orders.

"I am governor to serve the interests of vulnerable communities, their food to eat, and their security. " I will not tolerate any practices that advantage elites and abandon the most disadvantaged community in Unity State," he warned.

South Sudan suspended petroleum minister Puot Kang Chuol says his arrest was a political plot after he declined to betray his party’s chairman, Dr Riek Machar. Speaking in the trail as first accused, he claimed declined of a plotted proposal consequently led to his arrest.

"The former Vice President Dr Benjamin Bol Mel told him the president is not happy with Dr Riek Machar and asked him if he could take the oath of office. I went to his reception, where he warned me by telling me to tell the elders of Nasir to stop the fighting. This statement is out there on social media, and it is important to note that there was no fighting at that particular time. " After the function, we went to his house, where he told me that the president was not happy with Dr Riek Machar. On that note, he asked me if I could talk to Dr Riek Machar to wait for elections while I (Puot) took over from him (Dr Riek Machar). My response was that I was not ready for that and that the agreement does not allow such a programme. I also added that the choice of the SPLM/A (IO) for a leader was none other than Dr Riek Machar."

The United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) has distributed more than 1,300 fishing nets to vulnerable communities in Lakes and Jonglei States on Monday. The distribution exercise targeted 222 households across seven counties of Lake and Jonglei States. UNOPS says the distribution is part of the Rehabilitation of Flood Mitigation and Flood Control Infrastructure Project funded by the World Bank, streamlined to the Regional Climate Resilience Program (RCRP) for Eastern and Southern Africa. The agency explained the project is being implemented to address the escalating impacts of climate change floods on communities, infrastructure, and livelihoods across South Sudan.

Mr. Andrew Yunda Stephen, RCRP Project Coordinator at the Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation, says, 'The provision of fishing nets is part of the no-regret interventions planned under the RCRP.' It is meant to offer more than immediate relief—it equips communities with sustainable tools to rebuild their livelihoods, improve food security, and adapt to increasingly unpredictable environmental conditions.”

Government says no Ebola case identify yet in South Sudan. Citizens warned to follow preventive health measures. Ebola outbreak after was reported in Uganda and the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). The World Health Organization (WHO) documented 600 suspected Ebola cases and 139 deaths had been reported in Ituri and North Kivu provinces in eastern Congo as of Wednesday. South Sudan Vice President for Infrastructure Taban Deng G*i has launched farms of 5,000 feddans at Manga, Guit County in Unity State. Deng,s farms at Manga stopped in 2013 crisis after he was removed from governorship in UnityState. Farms resumption was said aim improving agricultural productivity in the country. Heavy agricultural equipment and machinery mounted on tracks were seen cultivating land before rainy season begin.
