1: Emmanuel Kembe-“THE KING OF REGGAE” From Wau. He sings in English +Arabic. His 2011 song “ let us celebrate” is iconic. Known for inspiring Youth and Honoring Heroes.

2: Nyankol Mathiang-“THE QUEEN OF ABYEI”
Started singing in the late 60s. Used music freedom songs for SPLA. Recorded in Radio Juba and Omdurman. Died 2012 in Juba.

3: Col. Amos Ajak Garang
Freedom fighter, composer and singer from the 1950s. Sang love songs + Revolutionary music. Later choirmaster of SPLA BAND.

4: Gordon Koang-“KING OF MUSIC”
Nuer musician born blind. Started on streets of Juba, fought for independence. Now internationally known as “KING OF MUSIC”.
