Let me just say it frankly for the sake of many graduates in search of jobs!
You’ve got a degree.
You’ve got transcripts.
You’ve got scanned copies ready on your email.
But you still can’t make a living.
Why?
Because paper alone doesn’t solve problems.
Skills do.
You can have a First Class Honours degree in marketing…But if you don’t know how to write a sales email, build a landing page, run a Facebook ad, or close a client, you will still be broke.
The market doesn’t care about your papers.
It cares about your VALUE.
This isn’t 2000.
The game has changed.
Right now, people are learning:
Graphic design without a Fine Art degree
Web design without Computer Science
Marketing without a Business course
SEO without ever stepping into a classroom
Digital marketing
Video Editing
Ghostwriting
And they’re getting paid. Daily. Globally.
Meanwhile, some of you are still updating your CV waiting for a government jobs that were never promised to you.
I’m not saying don’t study.
I’m saying study and at the same time learn skills .
Study what works.
Study what solves problems.
Because if your certificate says “Qualified”
But your hands say “I don’t know how,”
Then you’ve already lost the opportunity.
A client won’t ask for your graduation photo.
They’ll ask if you can deliver.
They’ll ask if you’ve done it before.
They’ll ask for results.
So if you’re serious about your future;
Learn a skill.
Practice it.
Package it.
Sell it.
The certificate might open the door.
But the skill is what keeps you in the room.
Focus on the skill. That’s where the power is.
