Uror Truth Watch: A Call for Action from the Uror Youth Association (UYA)

Leadership is not defined by titles or positionsit is measured by action, communication, and service to the people. Former chairpersons, such as Mr. Gatluak Reath Wuol, have proven that effective leadership requires staying active, reaching out, and engaging through all available channels, including radio and community media. This is the level of commitment expected from the current leadership of the Uror Youth Association (UYA), both in Juba under Chairperson Mr. Gatwech Yiek Yual and at Uror headquarters under Chairperson Mr. Gattuoch Wuor.

Since their swearing-in, the current leadership has provided no updates, held no meetings, and maintained no communication with the youth. This silence signals a clear leadership failure and has caused frustration among the youth of Uror, who expected guidance, unity, and direction. Leadership is about planning, serving, and representing the people. If leaders cannot communicate or organize, who will plan for and guide the youth?

Strong leadership is exemplified by figures like Mr. Hoaw Gatkuoth Thoah, who, upon his appointment as Director for Education in Uror, maintained transparent communication, provided public updates, and represented the interests of the people responsibly.

It is therefore an urgent call for Chairperson Gatwech Yiek Yual in Juba and Chairperson Gattuoch Wuor at Uror headquarters to rise to the expectations of the youth. They must establish official communication channels, engage with radio and media houses, organize regular meetings, and develop programs that address the real needs of Uror youth. Leadership without communication and action is leadership without connection. The youth deserve to be heard, informed, and represented.

BREAKING NEWS:

President Kiir’s absence from the swearing-in ceremony at the SPLM Headquarters has triggered tensions, confusions and great concerns around the SPLM Party Headquarters in Juba today.

This leaves the majority of SPLM members in shocked and in disbelief as President Salva Kiir was not present at the ceremony of the newly appointed SPLM 3 deputy chairpersons.

And this brings the lingering questions into the minds of many that is Mr. Kiir still alive?

And that there is a fresh information emerging from a reliable sources exposing the current whereabouts of the President Salva Kiir Mayardit, pointing out that President Kiir is not in the country currently, but was rushed to the Nairobi hospital on May 15, 2025, as he was in critical health conditions.

Sources have revealed the glaring signs of a fearing situation overwhelmed president Kiir who is currently in the Nairobi Hospital as he is fighting multifaceted medical issues and that the length of time for his treatment is unknown and unclear.

And now it’s obviously the case that the presidential decree which removed the senior SPLM members, James Wani Igga, Daniel Awet Akot and Kuol Manyang Juuk from their positions and from the SPLM party itself was issued by Vice President Bol Mel and his inner circle, and not President Kiir, who is reportedly incapacitated in his sickbed in Nairobi Hospital, making him realistically not fit to discharge his office duties anymore.
