A two-day training on Media and Information Literacy (MIL) for high school students commenced today at Juba Day Secondary School.

The program brings together students from Supiri Secondary, Juba Technical, Juba Commercial, and Juba Day Secondary School, creating a diverse learning environment for cross-school interaction.

A total of 30 students were selected to participate. Over the next two days, they will be introduced to key concepts of MIL, including how to critically analyze media messages, understand the role of media in society, and practice responsible and ethical use of information in both traditional and digital platforms.

The training is part of efforts to equip young people with the skills to navigate today’s complex information landscape, empowering them to become informed citizens, critical thinkers, and responsible communicators.

We grateful to UNESCO. Marina Modi
