STATEMENT IN SUPPORT OF BSAUHI-J
Bor Student Association in Universities and Higher Institutes in Juba
When home calls for service, it touches the deepest part of who we are. It awakens the indigenous heart and reminds us that the love, solidarity and responsibility we claim to have for our people must be seen in action not just in words and not only when it is convenient.
The Bor Student Association in Universities and Higher Institutes in Juba (BSAUHI-J), under the visionary leadership of Dr Ayom Akuei Jongkuch recently handed over to him by the former chairman Eng. Mamer Achop, is answering that call. BSAUHI-J is carrying forward the very purpose for which Justice Martin Majier G*i Ayuel founded this body: to serve Bor, to uplift our communities, and to safeguard the wellbeing of our people.
For four and a half months, the members of BSAUHI-J walked the streets of Juba with humility and purpose. They knocked on every door. They presented proposals. They pleaded for support for a health initiative that directly impacts the five payams of Bor County.
In that journey, they met disappointment. They met empty promises. They even met sneers from those who did not understand the weight of their mission. But they did not stop. They kept ringing the bell. They kept lighting the fire to keep Bor healthier.
They have seen the Bor we all dream of — a Bor where no child dies from preventable malaria, where clinics are stocked, where communities have access to health education and care. Financial limitations have slowed them down, but they have not broken their spirit.
In every engagement we have had with them, their message has been consistent: service first. Their goal is clear to eradicate malaria and other common diseases that continue to take lives in our homes and villages.
To Dr Ayom and the entire BSAUHI-J Team:
Please accept the sincere apology that we have not yet done enough to make your dream a full reality. But hear this: you deserve our full moral and material support. You deserve to be celebrated by all of us who believe in sacrifice, in leadership, and in the future of Bor.
You are not politicians chasing positions.
You are nation-builders.
You are recreators.
You are representatives of God’s work on this earth, right here in Bor.
CALL TO ACTION
I therefore call upon all sons and daughters of Bor, elders, youth, professionals, business people, organisations, and partners of goodwill to stand with BSAUHI-J.
Let us support this initiative with our resources, our networks, and our prayers. Let us turn their vision into action.
A healthy Bor is possible. But it starts with us supporting those who have already started the work.
The time is now.
The people are waiting.
Let us not fail them.
With deep appreciation and unwavering hope,
Khang-beny
Mony-Bor
