THE RACE IS STILL ON: The wheels are still turning in the AlphSZ Border2Border challenge as cyclists continue to battle through the gruelling 240km journey across the Kingdom.

The riders have already pedaled past Manzini. But the toughest test still lies ahead, with riders digging deep for the punishing stretch beyond Hhelehhele towards the Lavumisa Border Gate.

BORDER TO BORDER, PEDAL BY PEDAL: Ignoring the biting winter chill, local and international cyclists rolled out from the Ngwenya Border Post at dawn today for the AlphaSZ Border 2 Border Cycle Tour.

The gruelling endurance race has attracted some of the region's top riders from South Africa, Botswana and Mozambique, all battling it out on Eswatini's demanding cross-country route.

With kilometres of tarmac still ahead of them, the peloton is now racing towards Lavumisa, where the finish line and bragging rights await later this afternoon.

The prestigious awards feature 55 categories, giving artists from across the country a platform to showcase their talent in a wide range of disciplines.

The journey to the top begins with regional eliminations, where contestants will battle for a place in the national stage. Regional winners will then advance to the national competition, with the ultimate winners set to be crowned at the grand finals.

GHANA STAR DENIED ENTRY TO CANADA FOR FIFA WORLD CUP OPENER: Ghana midfielder Thomas Partey will miss his nation's first World Cup game in Toronto against Panama, after being denied entry to Canada.

Partey, 32, has pleaded not guilty to seven charges of r**e and one count of sexual assault relating to allegations by four different women between 2020 and 2022.

He is due to stand trial next year.
In a statement, Fifa confirmed the former Arsenal player, who is now with Spanish side Villarreal, will be unable to travel from Ghana's training base in Boston, where he is currently located after having his visa application refused by the Canadian government.
