I have always believed that the truest reflection of who you are is found not in your CV — but in the people who choose to celebrate you.

Carlos choosing to be part of my commemoration with his fiancée , Corinne Blandin— and then standing up to speak from the heart — meant more than words can adequately capture.

This post isn’t about communications strategy or crisis management or executive coaching. This one is simply about gratitude. For a friendship that has made the journey richer.

Thank you for being you.

I didn’t go looking for a mentee. I found a young man who was curious, hungry, and completely unafraid to ask the hard questions. Four years later, watching him grow has become one of the quiet joys of this journey.
Marc Antoine came into my orbit organically — the way the best relationships always do.

No formal programme, no structured curriculum. Just honest conversations, shared experiences, and a genuine investment in each other’s growth.
When he took a moment at my commemoration to share what our relationship has meant to him, I will admit — it stopped me.

This is why we pour into people.

Ten plus years is not a client relationship. It is a partnership.

It is showing up through organisational change, through high-stakes moments, through the events that shaped a brand — and doing it consistently enough that trust becomes the foundation, not just the goal.

Joanne Mora and I have walked that road together. And when she stood up at my December commemoration to share what this journey has meant, I was reminded that the most meaningful measure of this work is not an award or an accolade — it is longevity built on results and respect.

Working with professionals in the financial sector is very rewarding. The stakes are high, the scrutiny is constant, and the margin for reputational error is razor thin.

When Ayesha Boucaud-Claxton of Guardian Group and I began working together, the goal was clear — to ensure that their communications were not just reactive, but strategic, deliberate, and always ahead of the narrative.

Hearing her reflect on that journey at my commemoration was a quiet but powerful reminder of why this work matters — and why I remain as committed to it today as I was when I started.
She said it better than I ever could.

Over 20 years… is a long time… And somewhere along the way, the lines between sister/friend, confidant, and chosen family blur in the most beautiful way.

Joanna Welch-Gittens has been in my corner— through the chapters I talk about proudly and the ones I have kept mostly to myself. Having her in the room felt like an anchor in the best possible sense.

What she shared that evening was completely off-script — and completely from the heart.

When people have sat across the table from you through the highs, the pivots, and the quiet rebuilding moments — their words carry a different kind of weight.

Accountants, Richard and Rena Morris of AMD Services have been more than the team who keeps my books in order. Over the years, we have built a relationship grounded in trust, honesty, and a mutual understanding of what it truly takes to build something that lasts.

At my commemoration marking 33 years in communications and 18 years as a Strategic and Crisis Communications Consultant, they showed up — not just professionally, but personally. And what they shared that evening reminded me of why relationships, not transactions, are at the heart of everything I do.

Watch what they had to say.

Thirty-three years ago, I walked into the communications industry with little more than curiosity, conviction, and an instinct that how organisations speak matters just as much as what they do.

I had no roadmap. No blueprint. Just a belief that communication — done with intention and integrity — could protect, elevate and transform.

Eighteen years ago, I took everything I had learned inside boardrooms, newsrooms and crisis situations and built something of my own. Not just a business — a commitment. A commitment to the Caribbean, to its leaders, and to the idea that strategic and crisis communications are not luxuries. They are necessities.

In December 2025, I paused to commemorate those milestones. Not to look back with nostalgia, but to look around with gratitude — at the clients who trusted me with their most vulnerable moments, the colleagues who sharpened my thinking, the mentees who reminded me why we pour into people, and the friends who held space for the human being behind the professional.

What I didn't expect was how much they would give me that evening and continue to pour into me, to date.

Over the coming weeks, I will be sharing a series of video testimonials from some of the people who were in that room — friends, clients, and kindred spirits who took a moment to speak from the heart. I share them not to celebrate where I have been, but to honour the relationships that made the journey worth taking — and to signal clearly:

The journey continues.

The work of building communications capacity across the Caribbean — equipping executives to lead with clarity, credibility and confidence — remains my deepest professional purpose. And I am just getting started.
Stay with me.
