Take Me Home' by Freetown Collective has been named Calypso of the Year by the National Action Cultural Committee (NACC) at this year's Top 20 Stars of Gold & Calypso of the Year Awards in Trinidad and Tobago.

On November 28th, at the awards ceremony held at the Government Campus Auditorium, Muwakil graciously accepted the award. Take Me Home earned its place among an impressive field of 20 finalists, a lineup that included celebrated artistes such as Machel Montano, Kees Dieffenthaller, Karene Asche, Terri Lyons, Singing Sonia, Full Blown, Squeezy Rankin, Lyrikal, Yung Bredda, and Neval Chatelal. This recognition underscores the song's creative excellence, lyrical resonance, and cultural impact.

US Virgin Islander and Soca artiste Dennis “Pumpa” Liburd is set to be officially honoured by The Legislature of the Virgin Islands for his outstanding contributions to music, culture and the global recognition of the Virgin Islands. Through Act No. 9048 (Bill No. 36-0058), passed on October 30, 2025, Pumpa will receive an Official Key to the Territory and the main entrance of 6-Y Peters Rest Road in Christiansted, St. Croix, will be renamed “Dennis ‘Pumpa’ Liburd Drive” in his honour.

Following a successful 2025 Trinidad Carnival season, Grenadian soca star and the first-ever Ultimate Soca Champion, Wrenroy ‘Blaka Dan’ Ogiste, has released his first single for the island’s 2026 Carnival titled “3AM.” This groovy track pays tribute to his Trinbagonian roots and upbringing in Trinidad and Tobago, which has contributed significantly to his approach to music.
