Nukta Africa marked a historic milestone at the 16th Excellence in Journalism Awards Tanzania (EJAT), held on May 29 in Dar es Salaam, securing major institutional recognition.

The company emerged First Runner-up in the Recognition Awards 2025 for Most Compliant Private Media House of the Year and Winner of Most Specialized Media House of the Year for Sickle Cell Reporting.

This edition of EJAT is the first in its history to recognize top-performing media institutions alongside individual journalists.

These achievements reflect our commitment to ethical journalism, specialized reporting, and public-interest storytelling that prioritizes impact over reach. Reaching this milestone of 8 years of our existence is a testament to collective effort and resilience.

We would like to congratulate our journalists for their nominations on the Excellence in Journalism Awards Tanzania (EJAT), helping Nukta Africa to lead as a media with many nominees in Tanzania.

In the upcoming awards our colleagues, Chief Learning Officer/Editor Daniel Samson, Kelvin Makwinya (Multimedia Journalist/Fact-checker) and Esau Ng'umbi our former Digital Editor, have been nominated to contest against 15 other journalists countrywide.

Nukta Africa has featured a sixth of all EJAT nominees this year, becoming the first digital media with many nominees in a single season in Tanzania.

For the six seasons consecutively, Nukta Africa has been featuring journalists in EJAT nominations, scooping more than 10 awards.

These nominations confirms our committment to quality journalism by focusing on stories that matters most to the public instead of click and reach hunting.

Conglatutions to the three Nukta Africans have made to the list of the 18 finalists of the Excellence in Journalism Awards Tanzania (EJAT).

Nukta Africa is among of the two media organisations in Tanzania with many nominations and the first digital media to have many nominees in the 16th Season of these prestigious awards in journalism.

This is the sixth time in a row Nukta Africa is featuring nominees on EJAT, scooping more than 10 awards and the eights year consecutively to participate in local and international awards. In total we have bagged more than 30 journalism awards since our establishment in 2018. When it comes to quality journalism, we mean BUSINESS.

We wish them all the best in their awards. 👏👏

Aprili 28-30, 2026, wadau wa habari nchini Tanzania ikiwemo kampuni ya habari na teknolojia ya Nukta Africa walikutana jijini Arusha katika maadhimisho ya Siku ya Uhuru wa Vyombo vya Habari Duniani.

Pamoja na kutathmini mafanikio na changamoto za tasnia ya habari, walitoa maazimio 15 kwa Serikali ya Tanzania ikiwemo kuimarisha uchumi na ulinzi wa waandishi wa habari.

Mkurugenzi Mtendaji wa Shirika la Tech&Media Convergency, Asha Abinallah aliyekua akiwasilisha maazimio hayo mbele ya Waziri wa Habari, Utamaduni, Sanaa na Michezo, Paul Makonda alisema yakitekelezwa kwa ukamilifu yatasaidia kuimarisha utendaji wa vyombo vya habari na kuchangia katika maendeleo ya Taifa.
