Women have been deceived by individuals impersonating Hollywood star Brad Pitt and defrauded of hundreds of millions of won.
According to foreign media including the UK’s *Daily Mail* and *The Sun* on the 26th of last month, Patricia (a pseudonym), a Swiss national, received an Instagram DM in May of last year from Mr. A, who claimed to be Pitt’s manager. Mr. A approached her with the message, “Do you want to contact Pitt directly?” to stimulate Patricia’s fandom, and later, the fraudster impersonating Pitt repeatedly used sweet words and expressions of affection to demand money.
