We are saddened by the passing of King Oyo. He has been a great pillar of inspiration for a generation that was growing up detached from their ancestry by the advent of social media.
He showed the Ugandan kid that it is possible to be king but remain humble and mingle with your subjects.
He will surely be missed.
Our heart and prayers go to the bereaved family and the entirety of Toro kingdom. May the good Lord comfort you in this trying moment.

As WeCAN, we are proud to identify with and tell our African stories in order to preserve our norms and cultures. We celebrate a life well lived.

EDIOFE – Yesterday, the WestNile Cinematic Arts Network (WeCAN) conducted an intensive acting basics workshop with a handful of students from Sing Africa Film Academy—an institution led by a WeCAN protégé, Innocent Iguma

The session focused on foundational performance techniques, but our instructor was most struck by the students' profound "hunger for knowledge." For WeCAN leadership, this drive is the primary indicator of professional potential, signaling a commitment to doing whatever it takes to master the craft.

The engagement marks [yet] another step in WeCAN’s ongoing mission to establish a comprehensive network of skilled creative professionals across the region.

On Saturday, April 11th, WeCAN was honored to have two of its staff representatives (Aziku Sharon Mawadri and Jimmy Wester ) serve on the official adjudication panel for the auditions of "The Empty Chair", an upcoming production by Savannah Royals Production.
It was a profound privilege for our team to witness firsthand the remarkable depth of emerging talent and creative potential currently flourishing within the **West Nile region**.
