Between and films like My Octopus Teacher, the octopus keeps showing up as a symbol of intelligence, adaptability, curiosity and connection.

That’s a big part of why the octopus became such a fitting symbol for D’Eramo Creative. 🐙

Running a creative business, especially in support of nonprofits and small businesses, often means wearing many hats at once. Strategy, storytelling, design, communications, events, problem-solving, relationship building… all moving together at the same time.

Not in a chaotic way, but in a thoughtful, flexible + connected way.

The more we see octopuses represented in storytelling, the more we're reminded why the symbolism felt right from the beginning.

Some food for thought... 🥪

When restaurants use AI-generated images for their dishes, it creates a disconnect from the actual experience. Not because they don’t look good (okay, that too), but because they’re not real.

I promise you that you don't need a professional setup to capture a dish. A quick snap on an iPhone can go a long way in showing what your guests will *actually* expect. Your eyes eat first… and your phone’s right behind them. A real, unfiltered plate that instantly builds trust.

AI has its place in marketing and is a helpful tool. But when it replaces real imagery of your food, it unintentionally takes away from the authenticity that makes your restaurant unique.

For restaurant owners + managers, it might be worth taking a moment to consider how your dishes are being represented. You’re already investing in your marketing, so it’s an opportunity to make sure it reflects the quality that goes into your food.

Stop scrolling. Start replying.

When Philadelphia-based event strategy & production firm Pink Social Strategies posted on Threads looking for help with a slide deck refresh, we stopped doom scrolling and replied. She came very prepared with clear copy and brand guidelines (we 💜 a prepared client). What started there quickly evolved into a full website refresh to match the new direction.

We took her Squarespace site from 7.0 to 7.1 and focused on strengthening the foundation by improving SEO, accessibility + overall user experience. That included refining site structure and navigation, aligning design elements with her brand, updating copy for consistency and optimizing the blog and client portfolio to better showcase her work.

We also streamlined lead capture, improved search visibility and added key elements like a privacy policy and stronger calls to action.

It’s dolphin flukes!

The flukes are more than just a design detail effortlessly placed by rachaelbrands.com... it carries deep meaning. For Rachael, it’s a tribute to her mom and grandparents and is a symbol of the spirit we bring to every project and partnership—intelligence, playfulness and harmony.

Together, the octopus and the dolphin tell our story of creative, multi-armed support with heart and porpoise at the center.

Since taking over the twice-monthly newsletters for Naples Historical Society's Historic Palm Cottage in late August 2025, D'Eramo Creative has seen positive results:

For context, the average open rate for museums typically falls between 35–50%, making these results a strong indicator of audience connection and content relevance.
