More solar jobs in the U.S. is always good news! We were excited to see about the upcoming silicon wafer factory slated for somewhere in the U.S. from Cubic PV.

The facility will create 1,500 jobs and is expected to produce mono wafers for solar. CubicPV says they'll announce the location of the factory in Q1 of 2023, with a goal of full scale production by 2025.

So you want to be networking for your solar business but not all networking groups are created equally. How do you find the good ones? Here are our tips:

1) Find a group that is structured.
2) Make sure that members are professionals.
3) Look for a group that enforces accountability.
4) Make sure it's a paid group.

In an unfortunate blow to the solar industry, news came out yesterday that California approved a slash in net metering payments from $0.30/kW to only $0.08/kW for solar power supplied to the grid. This change makes residential solar panels uneconomical in California unless homeowners also have an attached battery.

Let's hope other states don't follow suit! And it might be time to consider increasing battery sales to help homeowner's systems remain viable in spite of regional changes like this.

1) Establish reciprocity right away.
2) Share a software or course you've taken that would be helpful.
3) Share a referral for another professional like an accountant or bookkeeper.

And did you know? Since 2019, solar installs for businesses have doubled! As some of these larger corporations are setting the trend, we're hoping this will trickle down even more to smaller businesses too!

Solar owners! If you're doing an install for a builder, developer, or clean energy facility, go above and beyond and make sure they know about the new requirements for wages and apprenticeships in order to qualify for tax credits.

The Treasury Department recently issued guidance on this and it goes into affect on January 30, 2023.
