DEANS LIST FAMILY.

Kait finished 2L in 1 semester.
I finished my first semester!
Adelaide rounding out junior year.

We survived the storm, it’s hard to take down a family of first gens, a hurricane, drums and legal. Nevertheless we persisted.

The label. The brand. The family. 🤘🏼

Excited for our next chapter, embracing this season with rest and stillness.

This is a design I'm particularly proud of. My band is putting on a benefit concert in Albuquerque, where the proceeds will go to the Veterans Aid division of New Mexico Legal Aid. Many legal services are available for free to Veterans they have no idea about. This is a way for us to connect with our local community, spread resource awareness, and raise some money for the team that works hard to provide those services. Crossing my fingers it's an awesome event!

Of course I had to make a design that would print well on a t-shirt. That's what 8 years in the promo industry will do to ya!

From Texas Heavy Soul to New Mexico Outlaw Country

Since moving to Alququereque, I've been playing live with a band called Ryan Painter and the Resistors. It's a big change from what I used to do, but a really fun challenge. What I like most is the band's mix of styles. Ryan writes great country songs. Steve used to be in a punk band in LA, and his energy and styleon bass is killer. Playing with pedal steel players that can rock n' roll is a HUGE plus. New Mexico has been great to my family so far, so here's to all the adventures 2025 has in store.

"Always, I know. You'll be at my show."

Kaitlyn has given more support to me than I ever knew possible. She jumped right in to support my drumming passion by always being at shows since day one. She also managed the band, IronVine, with Danny and I, kept us on track with weekly strategy calls, mediated band dissagreements, help with music videos, helped us get press, coached us during performances, and encouraged me to go full time with music.

Now that the band isn't together anymore, and I live in Albuquerque, she still encourages me to stay involved with drumming. There is a new chapter emerging. One where I play with a local church and fill in for country artists. One where we manage an incredible rock band together. What will this chapter bring? I have no idea, but I know there is no one I'd rather experience it with than my wife and best friend, Kaitlyn Harrison.

Happy 1 year anniversary.

If you are from Dallas, you'll probably recognize this bridge at White Rock Lake.

I've ridden my bike around the lake 100+ times, and have always enjoyed the view over that bridge. When it came time to shoot the video of "Ain't No Sunshine," I knew it was the perfect place. The lightposts at night shining down on the dark, shimmering water gave a really powerful vibe. My high school friend, Adam brought his video equipment, and came to help us too.

A funny story from that night is when we shot the slow-motion shots for the video. We sped up the song impossibly fast for Danny to sing along to, so when everything syncs up to the original, it looks slowed down but still in time. It was super tough, but Danny managed to nail it.

Today the instrumental version of "Ain't No Sunshine" is out everywhere. For this one, Danny created a demo and then we combed through it, bar by bar, over the course of almost a year to get everything right.

She Heals Me was a huge labor of love. Danny and I spent countless hours picking just the right samples, working on lyrics, recording, and producing the song. It was a very personal song written for his wife, so it had to be perfect.

The instrumental version dropped everywhere this morning. It showcases all the little details of the production that can be hard to pick out in the original. has always done an incredible job mixing for us! Let me know what you think in the comments below.

It's been a long time coming. The powerful ballad, "Don't You Love Me" is out everywhere today.

The original version was recorded by Danny Joseph in London years ago. Before IronVine, it was a song I fell in love with and knew we had to keep alive. When it came time to record parts, I felt like it needed to be a slower ballad to match the weight of the words instead of a fast rock song. After I rewrote portions of the lyrics and we discussed arrangements, Danny recorded all the parts and sang it incredibly. It shows a totally different side of his voice. I'm probably his biggest fan and got to hear incredible takes over the years no one else will ever hear. This is the only ballad we recorded together.

So what's the photo about? Kaitlyn and I got married on Nov 11th, 2023. We tease each other that we had a 1st year relationship with 10th year problems! Both of us came out of long-term relationships, with all the baggage that brings, and jumped right in. It was love at first sight. But it wasn't easy. Kaitlyn had a teenage daughter, and here Mom had recently passed away from Covid. Her path towards law school left many uncertainties on how our life would go. I had a lot of growing up to do to be able to step into the role of husband and father. It was a messy process. There were times it felt too hard, and one of us wanted to give up. But ultimately, it's the greatest love I've ever known. Marriage was our goal from day one. I feel fulfilled and will never stop trying. The photo is my favorite moment from our wedding.

Great things are worth fighting for. There is a Tom Robbin's quote I've always loved. "We waste time looking for the perfect lover, instead of creating the perfect love." The statue of David by Michelangelo was not carved easily. Quantum Physics wasn't discovered casually. Both came from trying and learning. Leaning and trying. Bit by bit. Making mistakes. Improving a little at a time.

We have the choice to create the perfect love every day.
