The City of Alpena and the Downtown Development Authority is exploring the creation of a downtown plaza and has an exceptional framework in place through the 2012 Branding, Development & Marketing Action Plan, managed by the Brand Leadership Team (BLT.) Plaza Palooza is the conceptual design process that will be used to get the plaza project started. It is a chance for the community to dream big a

bout what a public plaza might look like, feel like and be used for. The work completed through Plaza Palooza will integrate the Alpena brand and help in accomplishing several of the recommendations that emerged through the branding process.
