Heads-up about taxes this year. ⚠️
A lot of people are getting notices from the IRS saying their refunds are delayed. Over 1.4 million people have already gotten one of these notices, and the number is still growing.
Here’s what’s happening in simple terms...
- If the bank information the IRS has for you is wrong or missing, they hold your refund.
- They send you a letter asking you to fix it through your IRS online account.
- If you don’t fix it in about 30 days, they mail you a paper check instead, and that can take 4 to 6 weeks longer (sometimes even more).
Many people expect their money to come quick, but then get surprised when it doesn’t show up.
The good news? Most of these delays can be avoided.
✅ Before you file, double-check your bank routing and account numbers.
✅ Make sure it’s the account you actually want the refund sent to.
✅ If you get a letter from the IRS, try to fix it as soon as you can.
I’m sharing this because I don’t want you to worry or feel stressed if your refund takes longer than expected. My job is to help you file correctly so you can get as much money back as possible.
