A few weeks ago, I had the chance to spend some time with Neon Soul, an acrylic painting by Em Camacho, while preparing prints for her exhibition at Stephan Fine Arts Gallery in downtown Anchorage.

One of the things I love most about this work is getting to slow down and really study a piece. You start noticing the brushwork, the color choices, and all the little details that can get missed at first glance.

Seeing artwork move from an artist’s studio to a gallery wall is always special. I’m grateful Em trusted me to help bring her vision to print.

Watching a classic come off the press.

Printing a large format fine art reproduction of Washington Crossing the Delaware at The Cold Press in Anchorage, Alaska.

There is something different about seeing artwork become physical again: the texture of the paper, the depth of the color, and the scale of the finished piece. This is why I built the studio.

These WW2 era newspapers were too fragile to display so my customer had me do museum grade reproductions so he can finally hang them in his home.

What an honor to be trusted with such incredible pieces of American history.

The prints turned out incredible! The details came through as if the originals themselves were hanging in the wall.

This was an absolute banger of a project! A customer had these rare newspaper artifacts from the WW2 era. Due to their extremely fragile nature, they are unable to be displayed. So what do we do?

Reproduce!

Now he has four museum grade representations of his prized collection. Thanks for trusting The Cold Press with these beautiful pieces of American history. I certainly had a blast putting these together.
