1. People don’t hire agencies. They hire people.
And most of the time, they hire the person who makes their life easier and doesn’t make things weird.
2. Being easy to work with is a competitive advantage.
Seriously. If you're fun, fast, and answer the phone, you're already ahead of half the industry.
3. Confidence comes from experience - not ego.
After years in the game, I can walk into any room and say, “Here’s what I’d do” - and mean it. That makes clients feel safe. And that matters.
4. Stop selling. Shut up and listen.
Clients usually come to the meeting knowing what they want and are looking for someone to bring it to life. Success doesn’t come from upselling your services in this moment. It comes from adding a fresh perspective that elevates their ideas - without stepping on their toes or trying to reach deeper into their pockets.
5. Quick beats perfect - most of the time.
Deadlines matter, but so does momentum. Getting it 90% right and live today is better than chasing 100% and missing the moment.
6. The best client relationships feel like partnerships.
We collaborate. We joke. We spend hours sharing ideas. I care about their businesses like they're mine. And they can feel that.
7. Nobody wants to explain their business five times.
So I listen hard, learn fast, and try to be the kind of guy they only have to say it to once.
8. “Full service” doesn’t mean “Throw everything at the wall and see what sticks.”
It means if you need a tagline, I’ve got one. If you need a brochure, I’m already designing it. If your web guy ghosted you, I’m on it.
9. Growth isn’t about blowing up - it’s about showing up.
Most clients aren’t trying to go viral overnight. They usually have an immediate need and just want their brand to look good, sound right, and help them grow at a manageable pace and in the right direction.
10. If you’re good to work with, people come back.
That’s the whole thing. That’s my business. That’s Drive.
