New Years Day Coney Island plunge started in 1903 and continues in 2025. One of the “dippers” said the water was 39ish degrees, outside temps 51ish and windy! We said we’ll do it next year… come and join us! Happy New Year!

They both say, please help all the housed, unhoused and feral kitties down in NC, who are still recovering (and will be for a long while) from Helene. They also say, “meow”.

It’s like scenes from Blade Runner 2049. The aqi readings on Google vary from 161 in Fort George, Manhattan to 235 in Kew Gardens, Queens. Brooklyn is hovering at 198 depending on the neighborhood. Even with 3 air filters running and a KN95 on I can still taste it and my nostrils are burning. These images were taken 45 mins apart and have zero editing or HDR.

A pig walks in Brooklyn. Franny’s her name and being super sweet’s her game! Her parents are recent transplants from that blue enclave in TX, and yes their NYC landlord knows they have a potbelly pig as a pet! So much for being unique by walking my kitty, even tho she’s a little piglet too!
