Brew Crew Labs Bridging the gap between functional and imaginative.

The next website mock up we did was of a reimagined product listing page for . We wanted to make it very easy to just add popsicles your cart while browsing flavors.

I would have done an example of scrolling through all the pops quickly but I didn’t want to make more popsicle textures.

Didn’t really think of more info but just wanted to make something fun and easy to understand.

You can buy 1 or 12 at a time so they’re technically separate items.

For our next website concept we made one for . We kept it simple but added animations based on label color since they don’t have too many variations with their bag packaging.

It’s a Product Page but it could also allow you to move to another product on scroll. And we include flavors on product names on the scroller because it’ll be hard to tell if you like a coffee bean without it.

We made a TikTok. Linktr.ee in the bio. With TikTok maybe we might show more day to day experimenting. It’ll be family fun for everyone

And the video is a project reel with a cheesy intro. Also new website recently for those just looking at random profiles. So check it out

Hope everyone had a happy new year! And to kick it off we’re launching our new site. We’ve always intended to convey funk in our web designs but it was always so hard. With the help of WebGL we can make the website have more feeling and soul.

So hopefully you get that silk sonic vibe as you go through. It actually has collaborations and experiments as opposed to before.

We’re still working on amping up performance and the look of some things. But if we didn’t launch now we’d be tinkering with the site until the end of the year.

Cheers!

We’ve been working on a site revamp. Taken some inspirations from

Next in the series is Tritonia. This is one of our favorite beers and we brought some aspects of the can to life.

A lot of cool aspects about the can such as the kraken, the large fruits, a battle ground Athens, etc.

Notable little touches
1. is adding highlights on water waves to mimic the can
2. Adding neon on the cups of the tenticles
3. Fixed the lighting on the can

All meshes no HTML

This is part two. The next step of this mock project is to transition from one world to another. And maybe try changing the colors to pink red for tritonia.

And as you can tell, big fans of

*Note this is not an official collaboration and is a mock-up website

Here’s the first part of the mock website. This is a fully functioning website with camera transitions and subtle niceties. The goal is to make this for a couple or several cans and seamlessly toggle between them. All pieces in this mock are WebGL. So no HTML involved other than Canvas.

Each of these worlds are based on the can label’s art. So it’ll be cool to do these for other cans. Next is tritonia. And of course we chose Creature because of nostalgia but may do this on other brands too!

Back to some beer can experiments. This time we are thinking of creating themed boxes depending on the flavor and vibe of the beer.

Since Tropicalia is a citrusy summery type vibe, we put it in a small beach. Although this is just in blender we will attempt to do this on web and make a mock beer facts page.

Another way to pack detail without amping up the vertices on a model is through normal map baking. This is useful for 3D website showrooms!

Blender has an awesome tool called multires which allows sculpting on a higher poly count version of the same model. Then you can back the result onto a normal map and apply it to the low poly model. No extra verticies but just an extra image to account for. But images can be compressed even more so there’s the advantage.

So in order to do some real low cost lighting on web, we use environment maps a lot especially for metal objects. Buying ones online is not ideal nor are free studio lighting hdri’s prevalent.

So we resorted to using Blender to create one. The results are awesome and it’s truly free to do. Here’s a setup we are using for Edison.

The first screenshot shows the setup and then the render view.
The second screenshot is using a free online tool to cut up the environment map into something usable with the web.
