2026 marks my tenth year as a weekly volunteer with the International Rescue Committee of Atlanta. 2026 also marks the 11th year since I started my own business. It is because of the choice I made 11 years ago, to leave corporate America and be my own boss, that I have had the freedom and ability to volunteer almost 500 hours over the last ten years with our refugee and immigrant communities, helping in the childcare center while parents take English as a second language and cultural orientation classes. I love these families so much and I am forever grateful to all the people at the IRC who give their talent, time and love, helping these beautiful families make new lives here.
