Wow, almost two years since I sat in that field alone and went through the "Great Nervous Breakdown of 2020" Amazing to think how far I have come, how much I have learned and grown, and how much (excuse my french) bu****it I have shed.

It was a shock to the system to be so alone without perceived worth and purpose.

Today, I could stay in my apartment writing and creating for months and be content because I love myself and my own company and that is a gift that I am grateful to have given myself.

This year I am 42...answer to everything, right?

Tonight is a full moon 🌚 and one of my favorite events 🦢 Swan Dive 💦 I think I saw my first drag queen at age 10 or 11 in Montrose hanging out of the porch of a brownstone during the Westheimer Arts Festival in ..The role of the drag queen 💅 as I see it is a truth-teller and soothsayer, a shamanic shield 🛡️ for the community using their big style and sharp wit to say the things that no one else will. 😥 Sad Girls Only has that disregard for homogenization🥛 of brand snd vulnerable display like you rarely get to see in the AD (after drag race) This event exudes the message that I have gathered from all the greats of the past, present, and future of drag: to be yourself. This is my Da. He’s not on social media, but he taught me social skills irl. My sense of humor, empathy muscle and work ethic are all a result of listening to his storytelling, watching him go to work graveyards at the refinery and his ability to treat everyone no matter walk in life with kindness and respect. He’s living out in Wimberley with Mom now and I wish I got to see him more than I do at present, but I know he’s proud for all the things he made important to teach me when I was a lil jerk kid who thought they knew everything. As it turns out…I DONT! Gosh, I hope I never get to a place where I think I know it all because then what? Where is all the wonder in the world if you think you know everything about it? Not a lot of inspiration in that. Love you Dad, thanks for keeping me on the quest for knowledge, the threshold to do the work to find it and the sense of humor to never take life (or myself) too seriously. ♥️

Throwback to UTOPiAfest 2018 when after missing him play twice, but third times a charm, I got to see Synthemesc play right before a big ass rainstorm drenched all my stuff. That dude is in Columbia now, but I remember the wild ride he took us during that set fondly. #2018
