👋 Hi! I’m Megan! My hands are the ones behind all the lettering at The Type Writer Co and I’m so glad you’re here! I’ve loved making pretty letters and writing letters to relatives far away since I was a young girl. I kept a list of who I wrote to and the date and counted them all up often. When I reached 1,000 letters written, I stopped counting.

Adult life has brought a need to have a tactile and creative at-home hobby, and so one day I committed to learning to letter as well as the Insta people I drooled over. I practiced every day after work for about three months. Eventually, I felt comfortable enough to share my creativity with the “world”, and The Type Writer Co was born.

My love of imagining and designing and creating beautiful lettering has spurred me to love my people well in a way I love to do. I’ve done signs for weddings, baby showers, and dances; Christmas card envelopes; and custom projects.

When I’m not lettering, I love to travel this big beautiful world, laugh with my favorite people, enjoy the great outdoors, waterski, make silly faces, snuggle with my part-time pup, take naps, rest in quiet spaces, see all the wildflowers, notice the details (I still miss some), practice the way of Jesus (an amateur at that), and long for Heaven (maybe not as much as I should). 💜💜

💐 I’ve realized that I really like to love my people well. An easy way to do that is use what skills and hobbies you have to bless others. If you’re doing it anyways, just share a little of that love with others. I love to letter names on envelopes, so I might as well put a note inside. And I loveeee flowers and practicing arranging them so it’s a good excuse to buy some and give them away.

🕰️ Throwback to an old project but one of my first that I sent out into the world. Also my era of looooving metallic color pens. The o’s in the word “good” are my fave on this piece. They just look so perfect. This is how you know I am a lettering nerd. I have favorite letters. 😂
