So this past week I have learned my first major lesson... note to self: NEVER use cheap needles on the machines!! 😭😭 I honestly thought needles were needles and it didn't matter as long as they weren't broken or bent... I was very wrong. I bought a 100 needles on Amazon for $5 and used them on both of my machines. I went to sew one day and neither machine worked correctly. I tore them apart and put them together about 100 times before I realized the bobbin cases were pretty battered from those needles.

Yesterday one of the replacement cases came and now my machine seems to have forgiven me lol. This was my first project in a week and I'm so happy with the outcome. The fabric is from a box of scraps that Rebecca McKinney gave me!!

Would you believe me if I told you this snake is 100% scraps? Yesterday after spending almost all day with my machine (becuase stir crazy) I had a pretty big mess. I already have accumulated so many scraps and was waiting to make this project when the time was right!! Everything from the button eyes to the guts are recycling material! So happy with the outcome and I can't wait to put this in my class library whenever we go back!

-- there will always be more scraps so if you're interested in a scrappy snake PLEASE let me know!! I made this one pretty gender neutral, but I can always make them custom to what you want!
