One sentence got me TWO new leads.

Not a new website.

Not a new funnel.

Not a new ad campaign.

One sentence.

While I was getting StoryBrand certified, I started applying what I was learning to my own marketing in real time.

I changed my introduction from:

"I'm Rebecca Bertoldi, your friend in marketing."

to:

"When coaches want to get leads from their websites, I'm the girl they call."

Before I even left the training, that change generated two new leads.

Why?

Because "your friend in marketing" might sound nice... but it doesn't tell you what I can actually do for you.

The second version gives you an immediate reason to think:

"Wait. I want leads from my website."

Clear beats cute.

Every. Single. Time.

Take a look at how you introduce your business. Is it clear enough that the right person immediately thinks, "I need that"?

One of the great things about speaking all around New England is getting to see things.

This picture was from February, when I was speaking on a panel in Hoboken, NJ.

Right outside my hotel was cute little boardwalk that guides you to this spot, where I took the photo.

It was a great place to calm my nerves before getting on stage.

And a new view of NYC that I've never seen before!

Cheers to wherever your journey takes you.

Most business owners check their numbers.

Very few know what those numbers are actually saying.

Your analytics can reveal:

✔️ Where people lose interest
✔️ Which pages are creating friction
✔️ What marketing is driving real leads
✔️ Where prospects abandon the journey
✔️ Which small improvements could create the biggest impact

The answers are often already there, they're just hidden in the data.

You don't need more guesses.
You need better insights.

Sometimes the most productive thing you can do... is slow down.

When life feels overwhelming, our nervous system can get stuck in overdrive without us even realizing it.

One practice Neil Denaut shares is something beautifully simple: intentional breathing.

By slowing your breath, bringing your awareness into your body, and creating a moment of stillness, you can begin to calm your nervous system and reconnect with the present.

It may not happen instantly—but like any practice, consistency makes a difference.

Sometimes, the first step toward feeling better isn't doing more.

It's simply taking a deep breath.

I hear it all the time:
"I can help anyone."

And while that may be true...

It's one of the weakest marketing messages you can put out into the world.

Why?

Because no one hears it and thinks:

"That's exactly what I need!"

The more clearly you can describe who you help, what problem you solve, and how you help them overcome it, the easier it becomes for the right people to recognize themselves in your message.

In my latest blog, I share a simple framework you can use to move from generic messaging to messaging that makes people stop and say:

"That's me. Tell me more."

Buyer behavior has changed—but the need for human connection hasn't.

Over the past few years, we've experienced a lot of change. From COVID to AI, technology has transformed the way we do business.

But one thing has become even more important...

People want to feel seen. Heard. Understood.

They aren't just buying products or services anymore. They're choosing businesses they trust and people they feel connected to.

The businesses that thrive today won't be the ones with the loudest marketing.

They'll be the ones that create the strongest human connection.

I've always believed that the little things make the biggest difference.

The words you choose.
The user experience.
The strategy behind every design decision.

Great marketing isn't just creative, it should be intentional.

Every color, headline, image, and call to action should work together to help your audience understand, trust, and take the next step.

Thank you for this incredible compliment. It means so much to know that the care I put into every project makes a difference. 💜

The biggest mistake business owners make?

Thinking marketing is the whole business.

In my conversation with Michael Bridgman, he shared a perspective that every growing business owner needs to hear.

Yes, marketing gets people in the door.

Yes, sales help them say "yes."

But what happens next?

Can your team deliver the experience you promised?

Do your systems support growth?

Because as Michael put it, humans do business with humans.

That applies to your customers...

And it applies to your team.

If your team doesn't believe in your vision, your systems, or what you're building, growth becomes an uphill battle.

One of my favorite takeaways was this:

Leadership doesn't stop after the sale. That's where it really begins.

When I lived in the San Francisco Bay Area, I got to visit the LinkedIn headquarters to discuss a special project.

It was everything you'd expect from a tech company: A kitchen with amazing food, ready on demand; a rooftop space to get some outdoors time; quiet spaces for those having an off day to relax; fun games all around to get your creative juices flowing and so much more.

We were there to work on a project LinkedIn was testing for women-owned businesses. I loved that they found us in the community and invited us in.

Have you visited any tech companies? They always have cool stuff! Share your experience below.
