🚨 What happens when Facebook starts charging you for something your business has been doing for years?

Meta One is changing the conversation around social media marketing, and if your Facebook strategy relies on sharing links to your website, blog posts, or services, it’s worth paying attention.

But before you start rearranging your marketing budget or throwing your hands up in frustration, let’s talk about the bigger issue.

The real problem isn’t Meta One. It’s building your business around a platform you don’t control.

Your followers, your reach, your links… the rules can change at any time. And no, buying another subscription isn’t necessarily the answer.

In our latest blog, Angela breaks down what Meta One actually offers, what the changes could mean for small businesses, and why your website, email list, and overall marketing strategy matter more than ever.

Because your business deserves a marketing plan that can survive the next algorithm update. 😉

Read the blog and find out what you can do now: https://www.venturewrite.com/meta-one-facebook-link-restrictions/

Question for you: If Facebook changed the rules tomorrow, how much would it affect the way you reach your customers?

$39.99 a month for MetaOne. Would you pay it?

I’m honestly not sure yet. 👀

There are some features I can see being useful, but there are also plenty of questions while MetaOne is still in testing.

Especially this one: what happens to the features that are free right now?

For now, we can’t know how it will all shake out. We can decide what’s actually worth paying for our own businesses.

Have you checked it out? Would you pay $39.99, or are you seeing a different price?

Holiday content is on trend, which means it’s time to look at last year.

What holiday posts performed well? What fell flat? What got the most reach?

Use that information to plan your fourth-quarter content instead of starting from scratch.

And if you haven’t posted anything for Halloween yet, get it out there! 🎃

What holiday content has worked best for your business?

10,000 followers sounds great. But if you needed to reach all 10,000 of them tomorrow, could you?

Probably not.

That’s why social media should be one part of your marketing strategy, not the whole strategy.

Build the following, but build the rest of your digital ecosystem, too. Your website, email list and other channels give you more ways to actually reach the people who care about your business.

I know. Meta changed the rules again. 😅

Right now, MetaOne is being tested as a new subscription service, which could mean even more of a pay-to-reach-your-audience model.

BUT before anyone starts panicking: it’s still in test mode, and we don’t know exactly which pages are being impacted or what the final version will look like.

Does that mean MetaOne is automatically a bad thing? Not necessarily. There could actually be some benefits depending on what Meta rolls out.

I’m digging into what we know so far and I’ll be breaking it all down in next week’s blog.

Because when Meta changes the rules, you want to know what it actually means for your business, not just react to the headline.

Are you seeing anything different with your Meta reach lately?

“Do people even read newsletters anymore?”

We hear this one a lot.

And sure, plenty of newsletters probably get ignored. They might land in Promotions, get buried in an inbox, or sit unopened for weeks.

But here’s the thing: they still put your name in front of people.

You’re reminding them that you exist. You’re showing them that your business is still active. And when they eventually need the product or service you offer, you’re not a complete stranger.

Not every piece of marketing needs an immediate click, call, or sale to be worthwhile.

Sometimes, the job is simply to stay top of mind.

Do you still send a newsletter?

You leave a networking event with a handful of business cards.

Now comes the awkward part…

How do you actually follow up?

Call? Half the room says absolutely not. 😂
Text? “You text people you just met?”
Email? LinkedIn?

There are plenty of ways to do it.

But one thing stood out in the conversation: the people who were following up weren’t doing it just to sell something.

They wanted to learn more about the other person’s business, understand what they do, and find ways they might be able to help each other.

That’s the kind of follow-up that can actually lead somewhere.

Because the fortune is in the follow-up.

How do you usually follow up after meeting someone at a networking event?
