You don't have a posting problem ... you have a plan problem.

I see this every single day: business owners in Maricopa working their butts off on social media. They're doing all the things they think are right, just trying to show up.

The problem definitely isn't effort. It's posting without a plan. You just end up shouting into the void.

So what does an actual marketing plan look like? Here's a sneak peek at some of the basics:

* Message clarity. A plumber doesn't just say "we fix pipes." They say "we fix leaks fast so you're not stressed about water damage." Clarity is what makes every post after it work.

* Content pillars. A therapist doesn't post random wellness tips. They post about anxiety management, boundary-setting, and real-life scenarios their clients face. Why? Because those are the things they teach their patients.

* Posting rhythm. Two to three times a week is all you actually need to stay visible without burning out. Remember: consistent, not constant.

* Audience definition. A pool builder speaks to homeowners, not renters. Get clear on who you work with.

* Metrics that matter. Track visibility, engagement, and inquiries. Fun fact: followers are not a key metric.

Telling ChatGPT to make a flyer for social media?

Please, just stop right there.

I'm all for small businesses doing what they can to get the word out, but you're not doing yourself any favors. A bright image filled with words on top of words on top of words is going to push you further down the list than a simple post of an image of... Well, anything.

Social media is meant to be (say it with me) SOCIAL! Seriously, just post a pic of your FACE and let people get to know YOU before you bombard them with your busy, salesy flyer.
