We're excited to be speaking at Launch Dayton Startup Week on Thursday, September 17!

Join us for "Making Ideas Visible: How Visual Thinking Helps Small Businesses Communicate, Sell, and Grow" as we explore visual thinking that can help entrepreneurs clarify their business ideas, improve team alignment, strengthen customer conversations, and create more engaging presentations, workshops, and marketing content.

It's also a great introduction to the Bikablo method of visual thinking and literacy. No drawing or art experience necessary.

Launch Dayton Startup Week is free to attend and brings together entrepreneurs, founders, and small business owners from across the region. We hope to see you there!

Let's talk about conference attendees' return on investment.
Let's say a company is paying $2,500 for an employee to attend an industry conference. That money is only covering travel and registration. Throw in the salary costs and productivity gaps, and everyone starts questioning the return on investment.

Normally, most of the value stays with that employee. They return and perhaps send their team a few notes, share a slide deck, or say, "It was really good."

Graphic notetaking can provide real return on investment, post-conference.
If the attendee brings back visual summaries and spends 30 minutes walking their team through the key ideas, the organization begins getting value from the conference without sending additional people.

🧠 Knowledge captured: Visual summaries help identify key conference takeaways.
💡 Recall: Visuals increase retention by 65%, combating the dreaded "conference amnesia".
📑 Knowledge sharing: Develop a visual hierarchy that shares what was heard and how it connects to business goals.

Employees are inconsistently taking notes, requesting slide decks, and gathering business cards. Bikablo Basics Two-Day workshop can provide the toolkit for graphic notetaking, bringing real value to employees, their teams, and the organization that sponsored their participation.

Thank you Dayton Daily News & Russell Florence for featuring my graphic recording at this week’s Montgomery County, Ohio Arts Forum at Sinclair College!
Commissioner Mary McDonald and her team brought together municipalities, businesses, and artists from across the county to discuss the ways art can be integrated into the fabric of Dayton’s culture. A keynote presentation from Lisa Wagner of Levitt Pavilion Dayton drove home the economic benefits of creating a physical space of belonging that connects music-lovers of all backgrounds via a model that is inspiring communities around the world!

A mid-sized defense tech company believes their differentiator is “cutting-edge engineering.”
Great — but so does everyone else in their space.

The story they aren’t telling?
Their technology helped reduce a program’s testing time by 40%, saved $2M in lifecycle costs, and accelerated a critical milestone for a federal customer ahead of schedule.

Those specifics prove value.
They differentiate.
And they validate trust in a way generic messaging never will.

Once the Fractional CMO reframes their story around outcomes instead of activities, website engagement goes up, capture teams finally have messaging that resonates, and prospects understand why this company matters right now.

Strategy. Story. Sales.

Good facilitation strikes the balance between structure and creativity. An agenda that provides guardrails without controlling outcomes means avoiding the loop of endless, theoretical brainstorming that makes implementation unrealistic.

Waiting to hire marketing leadership isn’t “saving money.” It’s silently shrinking your pipeline.

When companies delay bringing in strategic marketing leadership, fractional or full-time, they usually feel the impact long before they notice the symptoms:

💲Missed revenue: Organizations without a marketing leader see 25–35% slower revenue growth on average.
❓Brand erosion: 68% of B2B buyers say a company’s inconsistent messaging makes them question credibility.
☠️Pipeline decay: Companies that under-invest in marketing during transition periods see up to 50% lower lead flow within two quarters.
🤝 Opportunity loss: 70% of GovCon firms report missing at least one major RFP because market positioning wasn’t aligned early enough.
➕ Cost overruns: Fixing fragmented brand, proposal, and digital systems after the fact costs 2–3x more than establishing a strategy upfront.

Every month without strategic marketing leadership compounds into lost momentum, missed bids, and weaker positioning. Fractional CMOs bridge that gap—fast, focused, and aligned to mission.

If you’ve been “waiting for the right time,” this is the right time. Let’s build your growth engine before the opportunity window closes.

Black Friday isn’t just shopping chaos. It’s a masterclass in human behavior under pressure.
And facilitators handle that every single day.

🛒 Black Friday: “Only 3 left!”
🤝 Facilitation: limited time, budget, or authority.

Whether it’s a 5 a.m. doorbuster line or a 12-person meeting, structure is everything.
