Lava Lake con la gente del grupo Recreamos Juntos (Recreate Together, if you want more info ask or .tina___ )

~1600 elevation gain
3ish hours

Super pretty at the top, plus the added bonus of a cold 🥶 dip in an Alpine Lake (nadamos juntos). There’s a good reason this is one of the most popular hikes around Big Sky. Lots of rocks on the trail, so come with prepared ankles. Really easy to play “the floor is lava” with rocks and root, if you’re into that jaja 😜

The Bighorn Ridge Disc Golf course is as nice as I’ve ever seen it, today. Much of my enthusiasm for this post comes from how organized it felt. Some new directional signs, pin placements, and tboxes. The updates are great, I’d love to meet whoever put in the work.

I shot a +10 and forgave myself for not acing every hole 🙃 but I got to use every disc in my bag and enjoy the beautiful fall weather. S/o to your pants are great for climbing up and down these mountains chasing after lost discs. Stretchy and breathable, but not collecting burs or scratches.

This Hailey King 2020 DGPT Tour Champ disc subbed in as my driver. It holds straight as an arrow and just dips at the end. It plays extremely well on many holes. I threw my Wraith into the woods a couple weeks ago (and a lent driver as well 😬 sorry rodia) and this has been a fun change from the swervy blue disc. Since HK’s disc doesn’t have the same range I, ironically, get out a distance drive with Karma Is Key and a phone number written on it. At one point this disc belonged to a friend named Ben. He told me to keep it after we finished up a round where I had also lost a disc. Then I threw the HK disc off 19 down that ridiculous slope. Went down nearly to the tee below it, threw it twice up the hill and lost it again 😵‍💫. So if you see it, Karma is Key!

I’ll miss the corndog days of summer

I had the pleasure of losing service for a few hours with these rad locals that adopted me into their group. Ate the best corn dog of my life, saw a crazy looking dog with a mohawk, swam in a lake, didn’t play co****le (this time), only had pants with me so I bought some vintage shorts that fit incredibly well, met the local shred master and his gear as well as lots of masons with thick dusty hands, and had the most relaxing (chill 😎 ) day of the summer.

S/o Angus, Gunner (Chad), Mark, Ryan, Tristan, Tyler, Ethan, Sambo, Carlos, Matt, Kelly, Karine, Courtney, and May for the plot. And the Thai Corndog with green chili and pork rinds.

A day out in Bozeman - by me

1. Go to Costco
2. Go back to Costco
3. massage from Healthcare Massage (not pictured, but she worked me good)
4. Montana Pitmaster Classic Day 1 - lots of BBQ, a token system that’s cash only, and some eating competitions between local first responders. Food not pictured, go get it yourself 😈
5. Hop in a Harmonic Egg w/ - 40 min went by in a flash. You lean back so your legs are up above your torso, surrounded by walnut (vibration neutral? Wood 🪵) walls at angles that create the egg-like shape. These angles are geometrically designed to purify the sound. All of the music is shaped geometrically as well. You’ll have to ask Alex about the specifics or look at her posts. The result being a crystal clear sound that echos deep into the psyche. The combination of blood flowing back from my legs and powerful music still has my head vibrating as I write this post 17 hours later.

Valley View Rodeo, in case you haven’t had enough in Big Sky. Head on down to Bozeman and check this out. Contestants and attendees from all over the states. Really incredible watching the riders and performers. Caps 🧢 off to you.
