As a small business owner, you are the end all be all, the wearer of all hats, and the one responsible for putting out any fires. It can definitely feel lonely at the top and it's easy to get overwhelmed.
Here are some tips if you are feeling overwhelmed lately:
๐ฃ1. Brain dump everything in your head
Whether it's thoughts, feelings, or a million things on your to-do list, getting it all out is a way to help clear your mind.
๐ฃ2. Determine 1-2 top priorities
Get rid of all the noise and narrow it down to the one thing (two tops) that really requires your attention and time right now. Focus on that!
๐ฃ3. Schedule time to relax
Get out the calendar and whether it's 10 minutes of meditation, a 30 minute bath, or an hour doing a hobby you enjoy, slow down and make time to relax. Going fast all the time won't help you get more done, but it will contribute to illness, exhaustion, and overwhelm.
๐ฃ4. Outsource and delegate
If you are lucky enough to have a team of people in your business, practice delegating tasks and responsibilities to other people. Taking time to train them now, will pay off in more time for you later. Or, if you are still a one-man show, outsource things like accounting and marketing to agencies who can take something off your plate.
At Breakaway Marketing Agency, we offer marketing and communications services for the small business, the mom & pop shops, and the side hustles.
