The fam and I ate our way through Lowe Family Farmstead . This is the ultimate southwestern Idaho fall experience, and a big part of that is the food.

Farmer’s Only pizza from Pitchfork Pizza, a giant hand-battered corn dog, a pulled pork sandwich, a Rusty slush with kettle corn, caramel apples, the Epic Orchard (a donut, ice cream, and frozen apple cider), and we always end the day with cookies from the Creamery. 10 out of 10.

Here’s the part I love. They’re farmers, so they believe in supporting local. Just about everything on the menu comes from local brands, from the apples to the burgers and buns, and the corn dog uses their own meat blend. You can taste it.

Come on out and eat your way through the farm. You won’t regret it.

Jeremy Eats Everything: Ep. 11 Spud Daddy 🥔

Today we ate the most Idaho meal in Idaho. Spud Daddy is loaded baked potatoes down a Chipotle-style line, Sun Valley 40-count russets that weigh about a pound and a quarter, topped with brisket, garlic chicken, or smoked pit ham, and then roughly 28 toppings after that. Whole menu’s gluten free too.

Jeremy Eats Everything: Ep. 10 Han’s Chimaek 🍗

Today we tried Boise’s best Korean fried chicken!! 𝗛𝗮𝗻'𝘀 𝗖𝗵𝗶𝗺𝗮𝗲𝗸 does (chicken + beer) right, with a thin shatter-crisp crust fried in beef tallow. We went with the signature Yangnyum (sweet, spicy, savory) and the Creamy Onion. Boneless, wings, or whole bird, you can’t lose.

The Spirit of Boise Balloon Classic is back at Ann Morrison! Five mornings of fifty-something hot air balloons going up over the river while most of the city is still asleep. It’s free, it’s absurd, and it’s the best thing that happens in Boise all year.

WED 9/2 — Kid’s Day
Balloons on the field 6:45a, kids’ activities 7:25a. Free tethered rides.

THU 9/3 — First Launch
Balloons arrive 6:30a, first launch 7:20a.

FRI 9/4 — Nite Glow
Tribute launch for founder Scott Spencer 7:10a, flight 7:20a. Then come back: Fun Zone opens 4p, food + vendors + live music from 5p, and the balloons light up after dark. This is the one to bring people to.

SAT 9/5 — Family Morning Launch
Inflation starts 6a, flight 7:20a.

SUN 9/6 — The Great Launch
Dawn Patrol 6a, final flight 7:20a.

Every morning launch is weather permitting — balloons don’t negotiate with wind. Get there early, park once, bring coffee, stay for the whole thing.

Five mornings. Then it’s gone for a year. 🎈
