"To Scott Halstead, managing director of Boston-based BGM Experiential, this means that college experiential marketing now has to be executed with social media kept top of mind, even if the actual event focuses on in-person brand engagement. "What an on-campus activation does for a brand is give them a touchpoint," he says. "You then need to get video of that event so you can chop it up and use it on social and build other parts of a marketing campaign out of it."

For brands looking to connect with gen Z, experiential marketing on or near college campuses is worth the investment.
