Suffolk County Police Commissioner Kevin Catalina today joined county and town officials, along with members of the Islamic Center of Mastic-Shirley, to address the hateful graffiti found at the site of the new Islamic Center.

The department's Hate Crimes Unit is actively investigating, and increased patrols will continue at the site on William Floyd Parkway and at houses of worship throughout Suffolk County.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. A fast cash reward is available for information leading to an arrest.

People in Suffolk County should be able to practice their faith freely and safely and the department is focused on apprehending the person or people responsible.
