Check out HFM founder Zack Slingsby discussing our latest documentary Dante Barksdale's Last Act on the Baltimore Lifestyle show last week:

Human Factor Media is proud to have directed and produced “Dante Barksdale’s Last Act” for the nonprofit organization Panacea.

This story is almost hard to believe.

Dante “Tater” Barksdale was a Baltimore legend. His family was the inspiration for the character of Avon Barksdale on the critically-acclaimed HBO series “The Wire.” Dante grew up in the projects, spent time in prison, and then completely turned his life around, dedicating it to stopping murders and bringing peace to Baltimore.

In January of this year, he was murdered. This documentary tells the story of the last two weeks of his life -- and an improbable event that set off a chain-reaction of healing and forgiveness across the city.

It is an honor for us to play even a small role in perpetuating his legacy.

If you connect with this story at all, we invite you to help share it online and in your own communities. As Dante said, you have to see for yourself "the power of this forgiveness."

Episode 1 features Ghanaian American Kwesi Kwarteng, a contemporary fabric artist based in Newark, New Jersey. His work champions multiculturalism by combining fabrics that represent rites of passage from different cultures, showing the interconnectivity of ethnic groups in American society.

4 ways to see the future...

Peter Thiel, who many like and some disdain, has to be given credit for at least one insight in his seminal book on startups, Zero to One. He argues that the way most people see the world, and behave in it, can fit inside one of four categories: 1) Definite Pessimism 2) Indefinite Pessimism 3)
