We're Matt and Wendy. We've introduced ourselves a few times now, but we figure there's always someone new in the room. 👋

Here's the version we haven't told yet.

We didn't come from a big agency. We didn't have investors or a business plan with charts in it. We had a dining room table, a shared frustration with bad websites, and a probably-unreasonable amount of confidence that we could do this.

Turns out we could.

Matt is the one who makes things work. Wendy is the one who makes things make sense. Together we've built websites for law firms and salons, nonprofits and housing agencies, symphonies and small businesses that just needed someone to finally tell their story right.

We still work out of our home. We still answer our own emails. We still get genuinely excited when a client sees their new site for the first time.

Some things don't change. We hope they never do.

"Build it and they will come" is a great movie quote and a terrible business strategy. 😅

The internet is loud. Everyone is launching something, selling something, saying something. Standing out isn't about having the best product anymore, it's about being the clearest voice in the room.

If people can't immediately understand what you do and why they should care, they move on. Not because they're not interested. Because someone else explained it better.

The good news: clarity is a skill, not a talent. You just need the right words, the right visuals, and sometimes the right person in your corner to help you find them.

That's exactly what we do. 👋

Hey! Today is Programmers Day! 👨‍💻

Pro·gram·mer (noun)- Someone who solves a problem you didn't know you had in a way that you don't understand. 😅

There is hardly anyone in the modern world who does not benefit from the services of a programmer; transportation, medicine, finance, education. Programming is essential to the smooth functioning of every service. Programmers also help with maintaining security, society, and entertainment. We need programmers for the latest in protection, design, and innovation.

The Mower County CEO Program held their Mentor/Mentee matching on Tuesday morning and I am so excited to be back as a mentor this year!

Matt and I have been investors in this program for a while now because we genuinely believe in what it does for the community.

What happens to your website when you stop touching it for a year? 🤔
More than you'd think.

❌ Plugins and software go outdated (hello, security vulnerabilities)
❌ Google starts to deprioritize sites with stale content
❌ Old contact info, hours, or services confuse visitors
❌ Broken links pile up quietly in the background

You don't need to post a blog every week. But a site that's completely untouched for 12+ months is a site that's slowly working against you.

Thank you to Development Corporation of Austin for hosting and to everyone who came out bright and early for "Marketing Made Simple: Social Media & Video Basics" at the YMCA of Austin, MN yesterday morning! ☕

One of the things we covered: you don't need to be everywhere, just where your customers are. Trying to keep up with every platform is exhausting and unnecessary. Pick where your people actually spend their time, and put your energy there.

We also talked about consistency. Posting regularly, even imperfectly, beats posting occasionally but polished. Showing up matters more than getting it perfect.

📌 Quick marketing tip: if you're running a lunch special, don't post about it at 2pm. Post it mid-morning, while people are still deciding where to eat.

It's Wendy's birthday! 🎉

Half of Aurora, all of the storytelling. She's the reason our clients' websites don't read like they were written by a robot (or by a developer).

If you've ever gotten an email from us that actually sounded like a human, or read your own story back and thought "yes, that's exactly us," or had her talk you out of something you didn't need, that was Wendy.

Southern Minnesota is lucky to have her. So are we.
