Over the past two years, building Swecker's Embroidery has taught me a lot. We've had small orders, big orders, busy seasons, slow seasons, and everything in between. Of course, there have been far more small orders than big ones, but that's part of building something from the ground up literally no knowledge of this no helping hand just my wife going to work while I run a whole business tons of mistakes and tons of running around town handing out cards and tons post on FB.
One thing I've learned along the way is that not everyone understands what it takes to build a business. Some people are only supportive when the money is coming in, the orders are rolling in, and everything looks successful. But the moment things slow down, their perception of your hard work changes.
I've learned that some people are so outcome-dependent that they can't appreciate the process. They measure your effort by your results, your progress by your income, and your worth by what they can see on the outside.
But building a business takes time. It takes patience, sacrifice, long hours, learning from mistakes, and continuing to show up even when the results aren't what you hoped for.
A slow season doesn't mean you're not working. A small order doesn't mean you're not making progress. And a business that hasn't reached its full potential doesn't mean the person behind it isn't giving it everything they've got.
Sometimes, the biggest lesson isn't just learning how to build a business. It's learning who genuinely supports you while you're building it.
Because the people you surround yourself with should be able to respect the journey, not just celebrate the destination.
We're still learning, still growing, and still building. And we're proud of every step it takes to get there.
And always Thank you for your support! ❤️
