You’ll want to save this post for later: I’m sharing my favorite tool on Instagram right now as a content creator and social media expert 🙌🏼

It’s the repost tool and here’s why I love it.

When someone reposts a piece of content that you’ve shared (post, reel, or carousel), it pushes that content out to all of their followers… many of which may have never seen your content before. The reposted content gets deposited into the feeds of every person who follows the person sharing! That’s a whole new audience of people being exposed to your work!

From there, those new people have the opportunity to interact with your content, follow you, look at your bio, comment and more. Reposting is a super powerful way to reach new people, grow your brand’s exposure and ultimately grow your business (or help others grow their business!)!

Can I show you one of my favorite places in Southern Maryland?

Welcome to Historic Rousby Hall 🤍

This historic home is actually an Air BnB but can also be rented for special events. It has a very rich history dating back to the 18th century. It’s perched on 16 waterfront acres along the Patuxent River, right at the mouth of the Chesapeake Bay. The owners have carefully and lovingly restored it, and have done such an amazing job at maintaining the historic integrity of the property while making it luxurious and comfortable. There is something interesting in every corner.

Once you step outside, you get the best wide, open view of the Patuxent River, made complete by an in-ground pool, private beach and dock (catch the regattas from the lawn on Wednesday nights!).

I’ve had the honor of photographing weddings, portraits and brand sessions here, but also staying here as a guest for a girls weekend a few years ago! We had the last Headshot PopUp here and when I had a pocket of time, I got to soak in all the incredible details in photographs.

Do yourself a favor and give them a follow, but also do a “staycation” if you can… you won’t regret it (P.S. could I come too?!).

I’m far from an interiors photographer, but I do love a good lived-in perspective to homes!

I don’t know about you, but I love a good theme… Although in marketing, we call themes campaigns 😘

However you look at it - from the creator side or from the consumer side, campaigns are carefully designed with 3 things in mind:

✨ targeted goals
✨ a defined audience
✨ measurable performance results

Everything is intentional. Every message tailored. Every piece of content monitored.

Brands big and small can benefit from designing social media campaigns to grow their business, launch a new product or service, RE-launch their brand, or even re-frame a message. The work begins months beforehand in brainstorming, planning, curating the content and writing the message. If you’re a solo or small business owner, it’s hard to wrap your head around the big picture without a team behind you. I get it!

Having a creative partner by your side can make the difference between a half-hearted (or half-executed!) launch or a full-blown success! Who has time to waste for a mediocre outcome?!

Do you ever find yourself intentionally taking a breath or sighing because you just remembered you’re still alive? Just me?! 😬

Last week was so beautiful with the warm weather and sunshine… it was hard not to look around and find joy in the smallest things.

I have a few new projects going on right now, and it’s been fun to complete my research and learn about a new industry. Feeling so inspired and refreshed!

This week is a busy one coming up:

🤍 Finish editing photo sessions from the last 2 weeks
🤍 Dial in to my online Bible study
🤍 Phone calls with local business for collaboration opportunities
🤍 Draft my May newsletter
🤍 Write captions for a content calendar
🤍 Photograph 3 high school and 1 college seniors
🤍 Shuttle kids to and from field hockey, swim practice and baseball
🤍 Attend book club (my favorite part of every month)

It’s never dull around here but I love the hustle 🫶🏻 When you start a new week, what are some things you do first to dive in to work?

A new decade for me 🤍 I am truly speechless at the kindness and love poured over me these last few days. From the texts, cards, kind words, Diet Cokes, sweet treats, surprise decorations, flowers and hugs to the incredible weekend well-spent with some of the best friends a girl could ask for.

I came home to my kids who are growing too fast, my free birthday Starbucks, amazing in-laws who looked after our kids, and the best man whose stuck by my side these last almost 19 years.

I am blessed beyond measure and could never fully express how grateful I am, only that it’s a testament to God’s faithfulness and His incredible mercy.

Thank you, thank you for making me feel so special in this 40th year 💫
