Just a Girl in Camas

Just a Girl in Camas Follow for fun travel finds, unique stories, and feel-good vibes from around the 🌍✨ Well, alright, I’ll admit it. I’m a local. That I would never live in Camas.

Born and raised in Vancouver, WA and both of my parents are native Camasonians. And yep, I said it when I was little. And here I am, some thirty years later, living in Camas, raising my family, enjoying my community and loving every minute of it. I love the town, the schools, the community and I love, love, love the people. So when I was pondering what direction my life was veering now that both o

f my kids are in school all day, I discovered I was really passionate about my community. You know, the place where you spend most of your time. The place within a 10 mile radius that you shop, drive, visit and run errands of every sort. The place where we are all living right now doing our best on our journey to either raise a family, enjoy retirement or just enjoying the ride of life. Along with my passion for my community is my passion for talking to people, getting to know them and hear their stories. As I’m learning in life everyone has a story. All these stories help me see things differently, teach me new things, enlighten me and help me to become a better person. I’m hoping that by sharing positive stories from our community it will in turn show you an angle you might not have looked from, teach you something you didn’t know and enlighten and put a new spin on things. I’m following a dream of mine by starting this project and maybe it will inspire you to follow a dream as well. My dream is to get out in my community, report on businesses making a go of it out there, people making a difference, and just some good Camas news. Please take time to check out some of my interviews. There are always more to come and I look forward to sharing this great community of Camas with you! I’m just a girl in Camas wanting to share some good news.

UPDATE: We have posted a water system update here: https://www.facebook.com/share/p/1F6Xhgr9rU/?mibextid=wwXIfr

Attention! The City is currently experiencing significant water supply challenges due to four municipal wells being temporarily out of service for repairs. Unfortunately, a series of unrelated issues happened causing the wells to need repairs. As a result, reservoir levels are being depleted faster than they can be replenished.

To help maintain adequate water supplies for essential needs and emergency response, the City is requesting that all residents and businesses immediately suspend outdoor irrigation and other non-essential water use for the next 24 to 48 hours. Residents may also experience lower-than-normal water pressure while the City works to restore its water supply system.

Maintaining sufficient water reserves is critical to ensuring reliable water service and adequate fire protection capabilities throughout the community. We ask all customers to take this request seriously and do their part to conserve water during this temporary situation. City staff are actively working to return the affected wells to service. We are hopeful that a couple of wells will be restored and back online by the end of today, with additional wells to follow as repairs are completed.

We appreciate the community's patience, cooperation, and understanding. Updates will be provided as conditions change. Thank you for your assistance and cooperation.

Please note, we will try to provide an update on the status tomorrow, June 17.

Evans. Our friend from the bar Delta Charlie, a couple doors down from our apartment in New York. Every night a hello and hug. The biggest smile. Our friend. Evans is from Zambia and has the most beautiful heart! He managed the line and was security. He would let us skip the line and come in for a drink or he was our good night when we headed back to our apartment after being out. He’s just another one of the hundred reasons why New york was amazing. We miss you, Evans! Hope to see you soon. Always welcome to come visit us in the PNW. On our last night there he gifted us a Zambia soccer jersey and hat. We will wear them with pride! 🧡 much love Evans. /
