If you market with urgency - as we were all taught over the last 10 years - be careful. There's a slew of lawsuits over false deadlines.

My Husband Said Most AI Efforts Fail. I Had Thoughts.

First of all, what does "fail" even mean? Is it the rollout? The training? The data parameters? That's an incredibly broad statement and broad statements get people nowhere.

Here's what I actually know: enterprises are handing people AI tools with zero training. That's not AI failing. That's implementation failing.

Before you write off AI in your organization — slow down to speed up. Figure out which part isn't working. Because I guarantee it's working somewhere. You just haven't found the right entry point yet.

We're all figuring this out together. But don't quit before you diagnose.

What's your experience been with AI rollout at your company? Tell me in the comments.

STOP hiding behind an AI mask in your communications.

People are copying AI emails straight into their send queue or having AI create the email l (bravo for connecting it and using an agent. You should be proud.) But AI copy is not your voice.

And Claude is not you. Please use it, but lean on it. If you use it without infusing who you are, people know.

I have seen over the past 6 months:
- people give incorrect information as Biblical truth because it comes from AI
- people using AI to deliver really disappointing or hurtful information via email to a team member, and it’s obviously ChattyGspeak. You lose respect of your employees when you do that.
- And of course, lots of AI sloppy information that is not double checked because people are busy or not discerning enough to know how to cross examine what they are getting back.

You have years of experience and a skill set nobody else has. When you let AI think for you, that's exactly what gets lost, and your clients andyour team can feel it.

Use Claude or AI to get there faster. Use it to build better. But use your thinking + AI output to communicate as you.

Discernment is my word for 2026. Probably through 2030 honestly. And ok, in this climate, for the rest of my life.

Are you editing your AI copy before it goes out? How about emails? Reports? Analysis? What are you seeing in your companies as this rolls out? I’d love to know.

My team flagged this today: AI Thumbnails ain’t doing so hot.

We watch clicks, conversions, behavior. It’s an obsession over here.

AI-generated posts on LinkedIn a rampant. Anyone can create generic thought leadership and mass-produced content.

Authenticity is your currency now.

Test your thumbnails - lmk how Real vs. AI perform, and if you are seeing a trend.

So I was on a plane yesterday coming back from Ohio and honestly didn't have many options for what to watch — so I clicked on an AI documentary.

And it genuinely might be the best use of my time this entire year. Bold statement, I know.

Here's why I think everyone should watch it.

It starts at level zero — where most people actually are with AI — and takes you all the way through conversations with researchers and CEOs about where this is all going. It's not scary. It's not hype. It's just really, really honest.

It made me think differently about what I do for a living, how I want to invest for my kids, and honestly how AI is going to change the social structure we've all been living inside of. I kept thinking about Henry VIII — when he broke from the Catholic Church it sent ripple effects through the entire world for centuries. AI is that kind of moment.

I was speaking to two groups last week and was genuinely surprised at how many people are still at level zero on this. This documentary is the best thing I've found to close that gap.

Watch it and come back and tell me what you think — I really want to have this conversation.

🎬 I've dropped the link to the documentary in the comments below.

Have you seen those 50- or 70-page AEO reports being offered lately?

They look detailed. They sound technical. And they can make it feel like your online presence is in serious trouble.

The reality is that many of these reports can be generated by AI in just a few minutes.

That doesn't automatically make them wrong—but it also doesn't make them accurate.

A meaningful AEO audit requires much more than running a prompt. It takes understanding your business, your audience, the questions your customers actually ask, and manually verifying what shows up in search.

So before you spend money on a report, ask how it was produced.

The process behind the report matters more than the page count.

Have you noticed Google looks different lately? You ask a question and get a full AI-written answer before you ever see a website.

That is not a test. At its I/O event last month, Google said it plainly: Google Search is now AI Search through and through. Over 1 billion people use AI Mode every month, and those AI-driven searches have more than doubled every quarter.

Why should a business owner care? Because for 25 years, online visibility meant ranking on page one and earning the click. Now Google builds the answer itself and cites the sources it trusts.

If your business is one of those cited sources, you get found. If it is not, you can hold a number one ranking that nobody ever scrolls down to see.

The fix is not more keywords. It is becoming the credible, specific, trusted answer in your category. That takes a different kind of content strategy than most businesses are running today.

Take five minutes this week and search the questions your clients actually ask you. See whose answers Google is using. If it is not you, that is your to-do list.

06/08/2026

A question I am hearing a lot since Google's I/O event: “I have spent years and real money on SEO and keywords. Was that wasted?”

No. But the rules of the game it was built for are changing, and it helps to know exactly what carries over.
What you keep: all the foundational work. A well-organized site, clear pages, good links from credible places, accurate business information. Google's AI leans on those same signals to decide which businesses it trusts when it builds an answer.

What changes: the goal. For 25 years, the point of SEO was to rank high and earn the click. Now Google answers the question directly and cites its sources. You can rank number one and still be invisible if the AI's answer sits above you and you are not in it.

So the work shifts. Instead of building pages around search phrases, build them around the actual questions customers ask you. Instead of measuring rankings and website visits, start checking whether your business shows up inside Google's AI answers for the questions that matter in your field.

Think of it like a remodel, not a teardown. The foundation you paid for is solid. The strategy on top of it is what needs updating.

Worth noting: Google is rolling these changes out across the summer. If you have been waiting to see how it all shakes out, that window is getting shorter. Now is a good time to take stock of where your strategy stands.
