Author Cherie Dargan Presents about her Book Four, The Recollection at New Aldya on May 20 at 2 pm
Author Cherie Dargan will speak and sign copies of her new book in the Grandmother’s Treasures series Book One: The Gift at New Aldaya on Tuesday, May 20 at 2 pm.
Cherie writes Christian Historical Fiction set in Iowa, in the fictional town of Jubilee Junction. Her newest book, just released in June 2025, is The Recollection, a holiday themed novel with the historical story taking place during the Great Depression in 1933.
Mike Parker, publisher of WordCrafts Press, described The Recollection: “The Dust Bowl has devastated farms across the Midwest. World war looms on the horizon. Banks are failing. Her four books will be available for sale, as well as a flour sack towel with a holiday design. Ten dollars from each towel sold will be divided between the Food Bank of NE Iowa and the House of Hope, both in Waterloo. House of Hope helps young mothers and children, as well as girls who age out of the foster care system.
Each novel in Grandmother’s Treasures has two narrators and storylines. In addition, each novel’s plot centers on a secret, scandal, or forgotten story concerning an old family quilt.
