I could write a book about each individual job, but the truth is this: life is wild and weird and opportunities come and go. Some are thrust upon you, others are taken as quickly as they were given.

And sometimes, you're really good at something that doesn't fill your cup, so you forge a new path.

I have had the pleasure of trying so many different things throughout my life and career.

I'm grateful every day to those who have invested in my photography business and mentioned my name even when I wasn't in the room.

The people I've met along the way have made this whole journey worth it.

To get BTS or not?

Yesterday was one of those sessions where I fully intended to set up my phone and capture behind-the-scenes footage, and then I got completely immersed in serving my client instead.

My phone's main contribution to the day? A slammin’ 90s playlist that had me doing all the dance moves (terribly 😆).

This happens more than people think.

As business owners, we're constantly balancing two jobs at once:
✨ creating an experience
✨ and marketing the experience

Often those things compete with each other.

I could have focused on capturing content for Instagram. Instead, I focused on helping my client feel comfortable, seen, and fully present in front of the camera.

No regrets.

Because while BTS footage is valuable, so is being deeply tuned in to the human in front of you.

One of the biggest fears my clients share before a brand session is: "I'm so nervous to be in front of the camera. What if I look awkward?"

SAME.

Real talk here friends: you don't need to show up already knowing how to pose, where to look, or what to do with your body. That’s my job.

I'll.guide you through the entire session. I'll give you prompts, adjust you, hype you up, and yes I'll definitely do something incredibly ridiculous to make you laugh and loosen up.

I'm not expecting a professional model. The goal is to create photos that feel like you.

With me, it's a safe space, always.

Comparison is the thief of joy.

I was talking with a friend recently, and we were both feeling discouraged about business.

But then I zoomed out. Last month, I landed a dream client for a stunning interior session. This was a goal I had for my entire 2026 year… and I hit it by the end of March.

Still, I caught myself focusing on what wasn’t happening.

We’re so quick to chase the next thing that we forget to honor what’s already here. The world pushes “more, more, more.” But that mindset doesn’t leave room to actually feel the growth.

I didn’t build this business for overnight success. I built it slowly, intentionally, for my life, and the kind of work that actually means something.

The truth is this: sustainable businesses aren’t built in giant leaps. They’re built in quiet wins, aligned clients, and showing up again and again with intention.

That’s the kind of growth I believe in and help my clients document too.

One of the hardest things about owning a business? Letting yourself take a break.

But here’s the reframe: Rest is part of the process, not a reward for surviving it.

When you’re grounded, not depleted, you show up differently. You're more present, more like yourself.

What started as “I think I can do this…” turned into building a business that actually supports my life, not the other way around.

There are messy days. There’s a lot of figuring it out as I go.
But choosing this path again and again might be one of the bravest things I’ve ever done.

Maybe the most important part is my girls get to see it.

They get to see that creativity is valid, you don’t have to follow someone else’s blueprint, and you can build something that feels like home.

That kind of visibility matters more than perfection ever will.
