A little something I’ve been working on behind the scenes… 🧵

I’ve been slowly building my Etsy shop, CozyStitchVA!

I won’t pretend it’s been easy. Etsy is a very saturated market, and figuring out how to stand out among so many talented makers is definitely a challenge. But I’m doing it anyway. 😊

CozyStitchVA is becoming a home for the things I genuinely love making: timeless, cozy embroidered pieces for everyday life, gifting, holidays, and home.

And if you’ve shopped with me at a craft show before, you’ll soon be able to find all of my most popular craft show items right on Etsy, along with new pieces and seasonal collections as I add them.

There’s still a lot I want to do with the shop, but I’m really excited to keep building it one listing (and probably one late-night embroidery session 😂) at a time.

PNG vs. Vector: What’s the Difference?

One of the most common questions I get is:

“Can you use my logo?”

Usually the answer is yes… but the file type matters!

PNG
Great for:
• DTG (Direct-to-Garment) printing
• DTF transfers
• Social media
• Websites

⚠️ PNGs have a fixed resolution. If they’re too small, they’ll become blurry when enlarged.

Vector Files (AI, EPS, SVG, PDF)
Best for:
• Screen printing
• Embroidery digitizing
• Large apparel graphics
• Signs, banners, and promotional products

✨ Vector artwork can be resized from a business card to a billboard without losing quality.

Which one should you send?

👕 T-shirts & sweatshirts (printed): Vector is preferred whenever possible.
🧵 Embroidery: A vector file gives the cleanest starting point for digitizing, although a high-quality PNG can often work too.
📱 Social media & websites: PNG is perfect.

AI is great…until it’s not! 🤖

When creating a logo, it’s important to keep production in mind. For example, look at this GoDaddy logo. It’s complex and cool…BUT…If you plan to embroider or screen print your design, remember that not everything created by AI or graphic software can be easily recreated with thread or ink.

For example, gradients, excessive detail, shadows, and certain computer-generated effects can be very difficult — or sometimes impossible — to reproduce accurately in embroidery. As an embroiderer, I can’t create a true gradient with thread the way a computer creates one on a screen.

Working with a professional designer who understands embroidery and print limitations can save you time, money, and frustration by ensuring your logo actually works on apparel and promotional products.

AI is a great tool, but realistic, production-friendly design matters too! Don’t forget to create with the final product in mind. 👕🧢🧵🪡

Did you know?🤔

The oldest embroidery dates back to 30,000 BC; a Russian archeological dig discovered a Cro-Magnon burial where clothing was decorated with ivory beads.

Embroidery was used to signify wealth and social status in China, India, and the Middle East.

Research suggests embroidery can act as a form of meditation and a stress reliever, similar to adult coloring. That is why I embroider! It’s a great way to relax and the fine detail is very satisfying to the brain!
