Anyone up for a cleanse? It seems to be "the thing" to do after the holidays and the start of a new year. And despite the fact my family and I eat a pretty clean diet, we -all 5 of us including our dog- agreed to start a 90 day "cleanse" with the help of Mother Nature. That's right- for over a week now, we start our day with a tablespoon of Food Grade Diatomaceous Earth mixed with a cup of water....mmm, good and the benefits are endless. Any other DE users?

I've been busy gardening -or more realistically w**ding since my Vinca minor went MAJOR along with unwanted ivy. Of course, spraying harmful chemicals wasn't a choice. So, I hand pulled it out by the roots. Now to deter it from coming back, I'm using cardboard as my w**d barrier covered by mulch that was delivered for free by a local tree trimming company. Next up, planting a few new plants. Any suggestions on shade loving plants?

What do you give each other for your 14th wedding anniversary? A good nights sleep...on a non-toxic mattress of course! :-) At least that's what my husband and I recently gifted each other. Ok, so, we're practical! But, after saying goodby to toxic chemicals in our cleaning products, personal care products, diet, water, etc, it seemed like the next logical step for a family that's all about living well and going green. Afterall, on average, we spend 1/3 of our day in bed and I'd prefer to do it without petrochemicals and a bunch of other yucky stuff! Has anyone else made the shift to a natural and organic mattress? After setting ours up today, I can't wait for bedtime tonight! Sweet Dreams for sure...
