Do the discipleship moments around the dinner table, in the Trader Joe’s checkout line, or reading bedtime stories add up to more than just small snippets of our day?

God gave me the sweetest answer to this question in an ordinary moment while playing outside with the kids.

My 4-year-old wanted to flip upside down on the monkey bars but he was scared. With his big blue eyes meeting mine, he said “Mom, I can be brave AND scared.”

I smiled at him and said “That’s right! We can be brave and scared at the same time. Even if we’re scared, we can be brave anyway.”

Nodding his head in agreement, he adds: “Let’s pray mom! Dear Jesus, thank you for helping me be brave. Amen.”

As my son finished his prayer, I silently offered up one of my own: “Lord, thank you for the glimpse of the faithful man I hope he will become one day.”

Keep going mama, your work is eternal and it matters. ❤️
