The dealership industry has a video problem.
Not because dealers are making video content…
…but because too much of it is being created with no real strategy tied to trust, conversion, or selling cars.
Over the past 18 months, I’ve watched dealerships flood social media with POV skits, reaction videos, trending audio clips, and “dealer humor” content that may generate views, but often creates zero appointments, zero leads, and zero sold units.
Worse? Some of it may actually reinforce the exact customer trust issues our industry has spent decades trying to overcome.
This week’s article breaks down:
• Why dealership “viral” content often fails
• The hidden opportunity cost nobody is talking about
• Why BHPH dealers should be especially careful
• How social content can accidentally create customer distrust
• What video SHOULD actually be doing for your dealership
• And why “activity” is not the same thing as strategy
One line from the article says it best:
“Everything else is just noise with a ring light.”
Would genuinely love to hear perspectives from dealers, GMs, sales managers, and marketers on this one because I know this topic may hit a nerve.
