IWG should be ashamed of itself, closing down all The Wing workspaces with zero notice and with immediate effect. So many lovely people lost their jobs, some of whom found out by finding a flyer on the building window as they left for the evening. Members who had conference rooms with catering and a global participant roster flying in for the meeting were not contacted with the exception of the email we all unceremoniously received. We can easily reschedule our meetings and find a new co-working home. Those who just lost their jobs won't have it as easy.
I understand the rough and ugly past of The Wing and there were still speed bumps to clear. But the community that the members and team at The Wing were trying to rebuild in a better way has evaporated with someone detached pushing "send". We met some great people doing good work in Chicago and we'll find them without help.
IWG, parent company of The Wing since the pandemic, who has offered memberships at Spaces and Regus, can bet we won't be giving them our business in any way. You should consider doing the same. You know...just in case you find yourself in this same spot.
