Have you ever thought that whenever you order a burger or chicken in Mcdonald's or KFC, then why the seller standing there asks you that “Dou you like to add some fries and cold drinks also?”.

Here comes the concept of “Cross-Selling”.

Most of the brands, along with their core products sell some complementary products also. The reason behind it is to drive sales and generate profit.

But these complementary products are always related to the core products.
Cross-Selling is not done just in the offline market, but in the online market too.
You must have ordered something on Amazon. Whenever you go to purchase any item on Amazon, then you must have seen a section there where it is written “Buy With It”. This is how online sellers cross sell their products.

Here comes one of the most effective marketing strategies called “Emotional Marketing”.

Yes, we as a customer always buys emotions rather than product, and its one of the examples is Dairy milk. Dairy milk sells the emotion of love. You must have seen one of its famous advertisements with tagline “How far you can go for love?”.

Similarly other companies rather than selling their products directly to their customers focuses on connecting those products with human emotions.
There are two reasons behind it.

1) Memorable
Human emotions are directly connected to human memory, and this is the reason we as a customer are able to remember a product of a specific brand. This is why, when we hear apple, the apple brand comes the first in our mind than the apple fruit.

2) Shareable
It is our human nature to form perception, either good or bad, about a brand after seeing the advertisement of the brand. And after we share our view about the brand to our families and friends which leads to the advertisement of the brand automatically.
