The Anatomy of Emotional Advertising on Facebook
Why MOST ads don’t work, why most ads fail and don’t convert profitably is mainly because — The audience can’t CONNECT with your Ads.
Too many marketers just focus on the surface level stuff... CPA, CPCs, CTRs.. scratching their heads over their underperforming metrics.
They think they’ve given it their best, incorporated everything into their ads they learned from all the tutorials, pushed all the right buttons— then are left dumbfounded as to why “ads don’t work”.
You see, the medium/or channel might be Facebook.. but this is still Marketing & Advertising. How many actually take the time and effort to learn THAT?
When you put out a product/service in the marketplace with the goal to get your desired conversion, remember your marketplace is made up of people, and people are EMOTIONAL.
People make emotional decisions, people are lead by their emotions and people connect with things (and other people) emotionally!
How many marketers actually go DEEP into that? - Unfortunately very few!
Marketing is simply taking a good product/service and positioning it in the right market, with sharp targeting and impeccable messaging. Advertising simply helps accelerate that process.
But if people can’t CONNECT with your marketing, if they can’t connect with your advertising — you “funnel” just won’t work — no matter HOW good the targeting is.
What do I mean by that?
People want to feel like your business or service will solve their problem. You need to be able to COMMUNICATE this to them effectively.
So what’s the fastest way to do that?
Draw a straight line in your prospects’ minds using your messaging. Show them they’re at point A (their pain point)… and show them Point B at the end off the line (where they want to be).
Now show them in 3-4 EASY steps how you’re going to take them from Point A to Point B.. those 3-4 steps are the CORE pillars of your service.
The 4 MAIN things you NEED to do:
- Base your solution in your prospects “pain” and how it solves their problem
- Focus on benefits NOT features - talk about benefits in copy, illustrate benefits in video
- Use video ads to tell stories that your prospects can emotionally connect with
- Focus on long form copywriting & script your videos based in benefits & problem solving mechanisms
When you base your solution in their pain and show them that you can take them from point A to point B:
